Decentralize!

What it means and why it matters.

1 minute read

No one knows better what you and your neighbors need than you and your neighbors yourselves. Through DIRECT DEMOCRACY, residents at the block-level can form assemblies to discuss and decide on issues that affect them directly instead of relying on politicians and other positions of power that are too far removed from the everyday conditions on the ground to make those decisions for us or take action on our behalf. We believe that all decisions should be made by those most affected by them, and DECENTRALIZATION makes that possible. Each block assembly can coordinate with other blocks in neighborhood assemblies, neighborhood assemblies can coordinate with each other in city assemblies, and so on, but the ultimate source of power lies in the actual residents at the most local level meeting face-to-face to flexibly co-create their shared space together.
